Guy got in touch with me through Yahoo answers. When I told him I was older than him, he disappeared. All I did was answer his question, & try to be nice to him. My friend said that was my mistake, that he was looking for something other than that. He said I should be meaner, & less open. What do you think?

Tigerslam & Firephiter are right on the money. I'm not looking for a date. I get on the Yahoo Answers because I just discovered it, it's fun, & I've found some interesting people & subjects. I guess the guy just offended my sense of Southern Hospitality. I was raised to be reasonably polite, which doesn't mean I can't be mean. I'd just rather not be. Anyway, thanks for the input.

I think a few people are creeps but most are not. Be yourself. That's all you should have to be. Yahoo answers is about helping people. How can you be mean and do that ? Just remember that your help should end at the keyboard. Nothing in person. Tell the guys if they want a date check out a dating service not yahoo answers.

As far as I am concerned, the older the better. Now, that does not mean that me, being 24, want to date a 40 year old. But, I am dating a girl a year older than me. I have dated younger, and it never works. Women naturally mature faster than men, and there is no shame in a woman wanting to date a younger man. But, honesty is always the best policy. Do not lie about your age. If you do, and he runs, then there is no reason that you should worry about him or even talk to him anymore. This is just a prime example of him showing his immaturity.

It is a shame when we can't share questions and answers without that coming into it. There is a man on here whose questions I love to answer. He is witty and funny. I know by the things he says that he is much younger than I am, but that is all there is - questions and answers. You stay just the way you are, let the ones who are only interested in "something else" disappear.

this happens to everybody in all ages in the computer/Internet world, never take anybody seriously, it's koo to be nice, don't become a mean person to other over the internet, because there are some left out(or in) there who are nice like you claim to be, just be respectful and don't trust in anybody, keep in mind that the grand majority of peole over the internet isn't to be considered as serious! ok surf safe...!!!

tigerslam hit the nail on the head. don't waste your time on children that are too insecure and immature to talk to a WOMAN. If your not looking to date, then ignore the imbecils and do yo' thang. if you ARE looking, be careful. The world is full of liars, thieves, and other filth based vermin....and on the internet, they ALL have first line access to you.

OMG! People play those games in the "real" world too! But I don't think you should be meaner or less open if that is not you! Be yourself!
