Acceptable “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.”
The United States government must do the following before putting any illegal aliens on “a path to citizenship.”
a) Complete building the border fence along the US/Mexican border; this is essential.
b) Pass H.R. 1940, the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007, which would end the process of granting automatic birthright citizenship to the babies born in the United States to illegal aliens.
c) Make it a felony punishable by a minimum of 60 days in prison to be in the US illegally.
d) Keep the National Guard on border patrol duty and let them interdict intruders.
e) New Border Patrol agents must be trained before amnesty is given.
f) Pass The Nuclear Family Priority Act by Phil Gingrey (R-GA), HR 938, which would reduce chain immigration.
g) Stops providing social services to those whom are in this country illegally.
h) Triple the number of ICE agents.
i) Mexico must be charged for the cost of the incarceration of its citizens in the U.S.
j) End the practice of dual citizenship. You are an American, or you are not!
k) English must be made the official language of the U.S. government.
l) Many more U.S. police officers must be trained in how to process illegal aliens by ICE, in the 278 (g) program.
m) End the practice of cities giving sanctuary to illegal aliens by reducing federal government funding to those cities, and by arresting the mayors. Charge them with aiding and abetting illegal immigration.

Illegal immigrants have broken the law once; how many of them will break the law again?
If the President grants amnesty to illegals then certainly people applying for visa and petitions legally should be granted wishes to remain in the U.S. Where does that leave us standing?
I have a strong opinion on this topic because I am a U.S. citizen who married someone on a J1 visa that entered legally. Because he had a 2 year home rule restriction we were not allowed to remain together in the U.S. even after appealing our case for two years. Although the government acknowledged that we were legally married they still denied us. I had to choose between my family, career, and home or my husband. I chose to be with him and left everything behind.
If I must leave the U.S to be with my husband then it seems only right that illegal immigrants should not be allowed to stay.

The fact is it's called illegal immigration because it's illegal. I'm sorry the Mexican government is so crooked, America had a crooked government at one point, we banded together and fought for our independence and now we are the world super power. We didn't run away from our own country to dump our problems on someone else. They are breaking our laws and should be treated as common criminals. If they apply for citizenship and go through the proper processes than welcome that is what are country is all about but, do it in accordance with our laws.

This is one of those issues that comes up every few years, right around election time, then dies down until the next election cycle. The fact of the matter is that unless you own a ranch on the Arizona border or are a stone-mason, illegal immigration has no effect on your day-to-day life. I have the feeling that the illegal immigration problem will be "solved" the same day our educational and health care systems are "fixed".

Ok, how was the U.S. founded?
By stealing the land and raping the women on the Natives that were ALREADY living here.
Funny how all these anti-immigration people quickly forget that.
Illegals are coming here to WORK. Europeans came here to TAKE OVER, using VIOLENT METHODS.
I mean don't get me wrong: the Latinos WILL take over the US, just not in a violent way like the Europeans did.
White's and White-washed people are just threatened by hard working people.
Illegal Immigrants don't use as many welfare services as US citizens do.
People who say otherwise dont have facts to support them

I actually have no opinion on this subject.
Believe it or not, there are more important issues for me to worry about. I spent my life in an area that is now turning mostly hispanic. They are in the minority where I now live.
I believe they will reclaim the southern portion of the U.S. for themselves some day. In the same way, I don't think Bush could instill democracy in Iraq. The clash of cultures is too great to allow it. Sad, but true. Man is a most unfortunate animal to behave in this way.
Otherwise, I have no other opinion on the subject.

Excuse me junio but i am not white trash i am an america who can hardly be proud of her country, and the last time i checked whites are not the only ones who are against illegals in this country. And further more you are the type of ignorant mexican who thinks this has only to do with race, its has nothing to do with it...if there were germans trying to get into this country illegally id be against it to.
Its very sad when an american goes into a hospital with a very serious problem and cannot recieve the help he or she needs because the hospital has already given out free medical sevices to illegal imigrants.

This is not opinion but fact, 12 million illegal immigrants are not going anywhere because they won't or can't be deported, that's a fact that was established quite a while ago. People need to face the truth instead complaining.
To bad for these opinion people who say ignorant comments like "deport them all back" or "ship em all back" that's not, ever, going to happen. sorry.

If it's illegal, the people should be deported. A lot of times it's hard to get into a country. If they want to bad enough they can get a green card.
I'd like to move to France tomorrow, but I can't. Sorry!
