Jesus and his disciples were Jewish. They celebrated Passover. They also had a group of women who were with them. More than likely, these women prepared the food. Jesus gave the command to make sure the meal was prepared. The food that was prepared was the traditional food at that time: Matzo, bitter herbs, and lamb. Wine had been added for this meal, but may not have been at a typical Seder during that time. Also, since Jesus represented the sacrificial lamb, at this meal, there was no lamb to eat. But, symbolically, they ate the lamb by partaking of the matzo and wine.
