ROTC in college is your very best bet. They will pay for your education, you get paid some, you train for your career early and when you enter the Military you are an Officer after 4 years. Better job and better pay.
The second best is full-time. You get more money, more training, and move in rank faster (active duty). You will have to start at the bottom and it is not easy but as you get your education through the Military you can move up in rank. They will teach you a specialty.
The reserves are generally older men and women who have a life and job outside the Military. The supplement with the Military job working weekends. But they can be deployed and not always up to speed to go. Their training is only weekends when the regular soldier does military training 24/7. Who is more qualified. True the reserves have older soldiers who have been doing it a long time but they are not always so.
Always go to college and take ROTC as your first choice (Army, AF, Navy). You get the college life, you get most of your education out of the way before you have to work for them, and you can advance so much faster. But you need to keep your grades up or they can get rid of you. It is the best experience.
If you are thinking of Air Force check out Civil Air Patrol too.
They offer training.
My son did college (4 yrs) ROTC and started as an officer. He is already a Captain in the Army at 25 yrs old.

Go active, get the G.I. Bill, take a few courses here and there that will be paid for completely by Tuition Assistance and not by the GI bill. That way when you get out you've got a lot of basic classes out of the way and you can use the GI Bill for specialized classes

Depends what you want. If you want to enter as a officer go after college. If you enter now though, go into the reserve, they still will help pay for your college and you can devote most of your time to school. be wary though, with the way things are now, you might be called up.

Full time. Join first, and if you find that you like it, stay in, and they will send you to various schools.
