i need to know how much its cost to live in newcastle australia, and how much do they pay you working there as a vet . do i need to change my citizenship or can i be an american living there? i think australia is a beautiful place and i want to live there. so any info wil lbe great thanks !! :D

You will be very lucky if you get a job in Newcastle - it is supposed to have beautiful beaches, and I know it's not overcrowded like Sydney. Some doctors I know preferred to live there after living in both Melbourne and Sydney.
But before you get too excited, check with the NSW Veterinary Board if your qualifications will be accepted in Australia. You may have to do several years' further study before qualifying, which would be expensive.
As for visas etc, you MUST address your questions to the Australian Immigration Department:

The regulations change frequently and the policing is EXTREMELY strict. Penalties for breaking them are HARSH.

you don't need to be a citizen but you will need the appropriate visa, and then you can just be a perminent resident. vets get paid very well if you work at a good one. i live in sydney, but know a few people who live in newcastle and have been there many times. it's a lovely place and you can live a very cruisey life there! good luck

should be on a decent wage as vets are soooo expensive here, newcastle is central to most states so good choise, l think you just need a working visa to move here and work, rents in aust are quite high at the moment but lots of share accomodation available good luck great place to live

Visit OZ before you decide to live there. I visited a few years ago from the UK certainly wouldnt want to live there. Sydney was ok Cairns is a nice place. Oz is not for me.
