I have a white desk and a twin white bed...they are really high. I have a light yellow wall. My room is really small. How do I get it to look bigger and to look darker. What color should be my bed sheet. What should be on my walls? I need help! If I don't get it done I will cry

1] START with bedding, curtains, and throw pillows in colors you like - a flowered print, stripes, geometric, etc.
2] THEN pick wall and floor colors - use favorite color for walls, and darkest for floors.
3] use those two colors and a third for accessories - reading chair, lamps, vases or flowerpots, candles and holders, in pictures, and ornaments.
4] add artwork framed in similar color and material - oak/walnut, brass/chrome, colored enamel.
5] use art in similar themes - concerts you went to, favorite movies, collages of family, friends, or vacations; favorite artist.
6] make a floral wreath or swag of eucalyptus and flowers the colors of the room - put in a blank or small space.
7] add some 'home made' art - like from younger sibsor cousins, beaded wall hangings, quilt, or embroidery.

You can try bringing the eye upward by giving your walls a chair rail and painting the bottom a darker color. If you really like the yellow, try painting the bottom of the walls white with a white chair rail. Or choose a darker brown tone and use earthy tones on your bedding with accents of black to make it darker. Get a color wheel from a paint store and find colors accross from yellow for a darker room and ajacent from yellow for lighter results. Black metal wall accents are easy to find and very affordable. Try Walmart, Target, or Kmart.

To open a room, mirrors do miracles! even if its just one! Also try Black and white photography or darker (not necessarly black, try regular tones of blue, green or red) accessories. Paint your furniture if you can. If the walls are bare, it will make it lighter so add some wall art and that'll help too
