To change the way your computer displays the date
Open Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
On the Regional Options tab, under Standards and formats, click Customize.
On the Date tab, specify any changes you want to make under Short date and Long date.
If you do not see the format you want in Short date or Long date, follow these guidelines:
To Do this
Display single-digit numbers without a leading zero Type a single character. Type d for the day setting, type y for the year setting, and type M for the month setting
Display leading zeros with single-digit numbers Type two characters. Type dd for the day setting, type yy for the year setting, and type MM for the month setting
Display the last two digits of the year Type yy for the year setting
Display four digits for the year Type yyyy for the year setting
Display abbreviations for the day or month Type three characters. Type ddd for the day setting and type MMM for the month setting
Display the full name of the day or month Type four characters. Type dddd for the day setting and type MMMM for the month setting
Display additional text Type single quotation marks (') around text
or jsut remove the timethere to just keep date available

1. Right-click on the task bar
2. If you see a check mark by "Lock the Taskbar, click it to uncheck it.
3. Hover your mouse cursor over the edge of the Taskbar until it becomes a black double-sided arrow.
4. Drag the Taskbar downward until the day disappears.
5. Right-click on the Taskbar. Put a check mark by "Lock The Taskbar."
6. The end.

Double click the clock. When it pops up you see you have Date&Time, Time Zone and Internet Time. Since you only want the time make sure the Date&Time selected. Simple

You won't get an answer, as it is not changeable apart from changing the height of the taskbar from double row to single row.
It's a Windows thing:)

It actually shows the day? Wow....ummm try right clicking anywhere on the bar and click properties. Uncheck show the clock. X out and recheck it. It's good that you live on the east coast!

- Note you can see the time format there but...
2] Click Customize... button
3] Click time Tab
4] type h:mm:ss tt in time format or select one of the others in the list
