A few years ago there was a girl group here in Australia called S2S. They released a song called "Sister" which was beautiful.. That might be a good option. These are the lyrics

she won't get off the phone
she won't leave me alone
when I'm talking to that guy
she can be a real nightmare
gets me to do her hair
then says it never turns out right
but when I put on a face...
she can tell
'cause she knows me so well
closer than my closer friend
someone will be there
'til the end
my sister, sister
deeper than the deepest sea
no-one loves you like your family
my sister, sister
she reads my diary
she borrows clothes from me
and I never get them back again
and she locks the bathroom door
says "five minutes more"
and an hour later I'm still not in
and sometimes we fight
every family does (oh yeah)
but that can't change our love
closer than my closest friend....
to celebrate the good times
to help me through the hard times
to bring me down to earth
remind me what's important
and who comes first
gotta tell you who I'm talking about
my sister, sister, oh yeah
ain't no doubt about it, who I'm talking about
she watches out for me
I'll know she always be by my side

I prefer the upbeat jamming songs for brthers and sisters, I mean, its just more representative of the sibling relationship to do a fast song rather than a slow mushy song (because honestly, you two probably had your moments when you were younger, I know my sisters and I did. There was alot more fighting, pinching, slapping, thrown hair brushes, chasing etc that went on in our house than there were sentimental and sappy moments.) I recommend "Praise You" by Fat Boy Slim, the hook line is "We've come a long, long way together. Through the hard times and the good. I need to celebrate you baby, I need to praise you like I should" then it totally jams.

OR did you have a song that you guys used to jam to as kids? Use that. My sister used to make up stories about the three of us going on tour and preforming the song "Iko Iko" (the song from Rain Man), it was an elaborate plan, she had costumes in mind, dance routines all of it. Thats the song I would dedicate to my sisters. In fact...thats a good idea. Thanks for making me think of it!

There is a great new song out by India Arie called Beautiful Flower. It was written for the girls at Oprah's school in Africa. The lyrics are great and just talk about the strength of a woman. It is on myspace I am sure if you want to listen to it.

Is there a song out there that has her name in it?

My friend Sue got married and I dedicated Suzie Q to her.

What type of song are you looking for? Something fast and fun? Or something slow and sentimental?

These are the special times by Christina Agulara
I know it is supposed to be a Christmas song but there is no reference to Christmas in it. It is beautiful song about family.
