I am moving somewhere where it is going to be snowing (or at least really cold) I am from southern California and have very little experience in the snow, let alone living (and doing day to day activites in it!) I want to be able to look presentable (I'll be working) and feel comfortable and not be walking around in ski clothes. I know that people live in the snow and all of this is possible, but it is a foreign concept to me. What kind of shoes, jackets, pants, etc...Any suggestions would be wonderful! Thanks!

Are you moving there before November? Then just go shopping in the local stores when you get there and buy the appropriate clothing for that location. You sure do not need to buy things now. The local stores will carry clothing appropriate to the weather in that location.

You should get a goose down 3/4 jacket, a pair of Timberlands, hat, scarf & gloves. Don't forget the long johns. Jeans are good, get them big enough to throw on some long johns (thin ones). Under Armour for cold weather is great and thinner than long johns. Make sure you get jersey knit sheets and a comforter.
