In Ohio, the concealed carry law actually allows domestic violence VICTIMS to get an emergency carry permit while the regular permit is being approved.

If you were a victim you can still purchase a gun legally. Providing, of course, you are still eligible to posses a firearm.

Like anyone else trying to obtain a firearm there is an application and a waiting period. If this person has a clear background, then they should be able to obtain a handgun.

of course, unless you have gotten in trouble for planning to kill the other person, or stalking them... victims don't tend to lose rights.
