For the past 3 days, I am feeling pretty tired. I was away for a week before this while getting maybe 6 hours of sleep everyday. I can still do my everyday activities including sports, but I feel like I want to sleep most of a time. I know that strep throat is also common during mono, but I only feel mild fatigue/tireness. Do I have like a mild case of mono?

No. Mild mono means you are sleeping over 10 hours/day. Its almost impossible to get out of bed and walk anywhere. Doing anything, like laundry or shopping is VERY difficult. I know, I had mild mono for a long time (over 6 months)

Mononucleosis is caused by the Epstein-Barr Virus. Your physician can detect antibodies to this virus (meaning you have the virus) in your blood via simple labwork. The physician can also swab your throat for a strep test at the same time.

The ONLY way to determine whether you have mononucleosis is to be evaluated by your physician.

Other conditions such as cytomegalovirus can cause mononucleosis-like symptoms as well.

Since EBV/mononucleosis is a virus, the virus itself cannot be treated with antibiotics. It is treated with sufficient rest and proper diet; if you have a secondary infection such as strep throat, you may be prescribed antibiotics for that.

If you are concerned, please see your physician.

Probably not but if you were exposed to mono then go to your doctor and have a blood test.
