All HDTVs are fragile. Mine was broke by a plastic drinking cup. I want HD and I have a new wall with a new wall mount. If all are fragile, should I buy the same model so I would have spare parts? Or should I refuse to buy another and make it a crusade to tell the world how the industry is ripping off the unknowing public?Only 24% of the public have these and the market is ready to explode. I should try to take this to court to prove that the public is not being properly advised as to this hugh ripoff and scandal. This is happening to someone everyday and it is not funny and it is not right. I want these techs and these salespeople on this site to remember that. Make and sell a better product or at least tell people the truth.

Jenny D - Thank you for trying. Sony wants $2300 to repair a TV I paid $2000 for last Christmas.

It is a rotten dirty shame. I am not done.

Dude, I sell LCDs and Plasmas everyday, and tell the customers all the Pros and Cons between both technologies, which includes informing them of the Frail screen in LCD versus the Hard Glass screen in a plasma!

If they've got kids, I recommend they put LCD on wall.

I agree with the guy above, maybe look at a plasma this time.
They are getting better all the time, and are still rated overall as having the best Picture/ Contrast/ Naturalness. Plus STRONG PANEL!

All the best.

I recommend a Plasma
It has a protective glass in front of it and the colors are much better than LCD.
So, if you don't plan to play games (and worry about burn in), go with plasma!!

Can you get breakage protection on the TV? If you buy another one, I would get it. Otherwise I would invest in another type of technology.
