I think he is close. But you never know I am trusting him in winning but if something unexpected comes through then we can only hope. =)

No, Newman will not make the chase. It seems that he is just a good qualifier, not a racer..

My gut says no. He can have some really great races, but not enough really good to offset some really bad runs.
My money would be on the the other Penske racer- Kurt Busch.

he has steady top 10 finishes when he wants to i think he can make it but there just might not be enough time to catch up for all the lost points... then again he does have some of his best tracks coming up. (michagan,california,bristol)

Not a chance. The only thing he is good at is qualifying, the man can't finish a race.
