I am happy to discuss my own belief with people of all beliefs or lack therof. Just a question, which is generalizing, so maybe the ones it applies to could shed some light on this. It seems that alot of times with SOME atheists, I am told that us Christians shove religion down their throat. Now, on the same token those same atheists sometimes like to come on this section and tell us our beliefs are stupid, wrong, etc. and convince us otherwise. It seems to be a contradiction, I am curious why this happens...

Again, this isnt ALL of the atheist mentality mind you, please keep that in mind

you will always have those people who are rude & obnoxious, no matter what their background.

i'm glad that you recognize & appreciate that not all atheists are that way.

I am an Atheist.

I am not in R&S. I am in the general section or as Yahoo calls it, the home page.

I only take on Christians when they don't leave me alone. Frankly I couldn't care less if you want to believe in a fairytale. It is no skin off my nose. I will tell you I was born, raised, and ordained in the Christian faith. The faith is really inert, the people are what drove me away. I have been in combat and there are less wounds inflicted in combat than in a typical congregational meeting. My back is all scar tissue from repeated stabbings by Christians. Add to that the Bible. That book has more holes in it than a screen door.

Honestly, I can't understand why any intellegent person would subscribe to the beliefs I have seen Christians, including my family, subscribe to.

Have a good day.

One thing (and I'm generalizing here) that atheists don't do is tell you that you will suffer an eternity of torment for not believing the way we do.

Just want to point out that our worst curses and offensive remarks don't quite reach that point.

I think sometimes you have to remember the context of the question when you read some answers that refer to the intelligence (or lack of) of the asker.

i agree with you, i dont believe in god or any religion out there but i think that if a religion and the idea of god brings comfort to someone else, who am i to try to convince this person of the opposite??? sometimes i am a bit harsh on some fundamental christians in here but in my everyday life i dont care so much about christians or no christians...people are people and when i meet someone i dont ask him/her what are their thoughts on god or jesus or whatever

Again, I could show you the emails that I get from so called christians, telling be I'm going to rot in hell for not believing. They tell me they can change me, I'm not looking for change. If I wanted it, I'd ask.

I'm not sure what your question is, but I like Rocky Road Ice Cream more than you do.

You don't get it, most atheists come here to entertain themselves and others!

I gotta say, they crack me up.
