It's easy to be atheist,or even agnostic;because you're not having to sacrifice or persevere.Essentially the easy way out.

It's hard, significantly harder to be&remain a theist because those with faith are always having to justify to the faithless why&how the spirit is better than the physical. Not to mention that theist are persecuted in the form of people with atheist beliefs doing absolutely everything to surpress&sweep under the rug the beliefs of theist;in som parts of the world theist are killed because of their particular beliefs. And finally atheist will always make excuses not to believe becuase God doesnt operate the same way the physical world does;&to give into God would mean to humble&submit your life to God,which for some odd reason atheist are comepletely against.

Theist have it much harder than atheist;agree or disagree? Why or why not?

You can't be serious. You guys have the majority in the US and have the president and elected officials as one of your own. Your guys views are reflected in laws way more than ours. Atheists are one of the most distrusted minorities in the country, and most people are shocked when you tell them that you are one. You guys do not even think for 2 seconds about whether your beliefs are true or not. Let me give you a hint, yes I will agree that it is harder to be a theist because believing in irrational things is normally hard for most people.

Um...you're partially wrong. Being Atheist is not the "easy way out" if anything...it's the harder way out...because at least in my experience, you don't get many friends when people know that you don't believe in their God...also, I was stoned once when I was first turned Atheist when I said I was...it was sad....Anyway, Atheists need to defend their beliefs way more than what Theists do...also, people used to jump me all the time 'cause of it...Also, you got your facts wrong on this..."Not to mention that theist are persecuted in the form of people with atheist beliefs doing absolutely everything to suppress&sweep under the rug the beliefs of theist" we only do that when you put it in law, schools, or other government buildings...also, when you say that some Theists are killed because of their beliefs...well, it's usually by other Theists (like...Muslims killing Christians etc...) And...I don't believe in God because when I truly needed him most...he wasn't there. No help came...just more depression and near-suicide...I don't think that an all-loving God would want one of his children go through that....also, I have no problem being humble...I mean...I have to be humble with my gf so I'm one of the more humble people when I'm around her....And in total...I disagree for the above reasons...hope I helped.

I am a theist but I'd have to say that in the US it would be significantly harder to be an Atheist. People in this country who do not believe in God are automatically seen by many as rebellious, devil worshipers, without morals and all sorts of other ridiculous things.

They are the least trusted group in America simply because they don't believe in any gods.

As for being a Theist I have never once had to "justify my faith". That may, of course, be because I have never tried to convince anyone that they were wrong or that they must believe as I do or that they are going to spend eternity being tortured because they believe differently.

In all honesty, most Atheists really don't care what other people believe. They simply want us to keep our faith out of the schools and the law books. I see nothing unfair about that at all.

Most people in this world are theists, so the opportunity to encounter any difficulty with atheists is next to nil. I don't know of any I've met, and besides, most of the time, religion isn't discussed with every person we know.

As for life being harder for theists vs. atheists, it's hard to say. I mean, atheists certainly encounter life's ups and downs as well. On the other hand, theists know that their entire lives are being watched by God. Atheists don't have to deal with the stress and realization of having to face God for something they've done wrong, yet theists have the blessing of knowing that God is caring and loving, more of a loving friend to a person than that person is to him/herself.

Atheists may not live with any belief of having to account for everything, yet they miss out on the BLESSINGS of theist fellowship.

I'd say it's a toss-up.

I disagree with you.

We probably have it harder because atheists represents less than 3% of the world population. We have to prove to you that the existence of any foreign deity to this universe is unknowable at this point as you try to counter that and suppress it.

People have been killed for being atheist as well, not for believing in a certain religion, but for not believing at all.

I think instead of submitting to god, we should submit to find out exactly if god exist or not, how this universe works, if there are any other universe like or different than our etc. We should change "believe" into "know"

What is easy and what is hard is a matter of perception. It depends on what you believe. If you believe there is a god, wouldn't it be harder to live as an atheist? Or if you don't believe, it would be difficult to live as a theist. Bear in mind that atheists get smacked with criticism too.

Those without faith are always having to justify to the faithful why rationality is better than blind belief.

I totally disagree. A former president has declared that atheist are not citizens, I have six religious channels on my cable system, and the public school where I work is required by law to have 30 seconds of silence every morning.

Christians dominate and control our culture.

? Last I checked atheists were the most looked down upon group in the United States. 70% of the people would automatically not vote on you because you do not believe in deities. Nearly a quarter are not even sure you should be citizens. I'm not sure how the 90% majority are being persecuted :O

Judging by your religious peers, you're right it is hard to be a theist you have to keep up with the animosity because they feel the need to twist thing all because people are getting fed up of their behavior not to mention medaling into someone's life claiming they are trying to save people. I mean you poor guys can't go somewhere in a country where it's 80 percent to 85 percent same religion as you guys and be harassed yeah you poor poor dears. You also condemned to hell, telling you that you do not have morals because you do not follow what they follow. *just barfed in my mouth*

Why do people think theists don't ask questions? I keep seeing "atheists ask questions" as a response. You don't think we do? You don't think we study? You think we hear one thing and that is our answer? I am on a long journey to understanding Christ, I do not appreciate people acting as if I am stupid and lazy, I ask questions all the time.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

We do have it hard, people always assume we are stupid because we believe in something, and automatically shut us out and insult us. It's not fair. I am very debateable. I love argument, with sturcture and reason.

Actually I would have to agree with you. It is harder to remain a theist when all the evidence points out how wrong being a theist is. It really is that hard to shut off your mind and ignore facts.
