Airdale is correct as far as he goes. You will have to present not only a passport on arrival in Miami: since 2003 you must also have a nonimmigrant visa, even just to transit through the US without leaving the airport. If you were recently deported from the US, it's unlikely that a consular officer will be willing to issue you another visa.

You will be asked for your passport in Bolivia, at the ticket counter. There is no need to allow you to fly out of the country if you don't have a passport. You won't be asked for your passport again until you change planes within another country, and/or you reach your final distination.

EDIT....
Your passport will be checked in Bolivia, before departure. It will be checked in Miami, you are entering another country. It will be checked in Dallas, you are departing a country. It will be checked in Mexico, you are entering another country. Flying from Miami to Dallas is just a domestic flight, no need for anyone aboard to have a passport. If something is wrong with your passport, you won't leave the international arrival gate in Miami.

You wouldn't be asked for a passport until *after* you leave the plane, so they will ask for it in Dallas.
