They called and set up an interview, the place is Culvers. When I think about it, I don't want to go from working in a grocery store to working at a fast food place. Should I give it a shot or no?

Do it. Use it as a fill-in job to keep the pennies coming in, until you find the fine job you deserve.

Don't leave yourself without a job, you can pick up skills and experience in a fast food joint and it's better than being unemployed.

But if that's not an issue, just give them a call and say "Thanks for the chance to interview, but something else has come up. I appreciate it and hope if I ever apply again you'll interview me then".

Leave a good, polite impression in case you ever deal with the people or firm again.

Best wishes :-)

I would give it a go if you have no other job prospects. However, if you do, then call your contact at Culvers and let them know that you appreciate their time but that you've decided to go with another company. This way you won't burn any bridges.

Call them up and thank them for considering you for employment, but you have decided to pursue other options. Using the term "other options" frees you from having to explain exactly why you don't wish to work there.
Calling to tell them this is just being polite, if you choose, you could just not call and be a no-show. The choice is yours.

If you don't want to work there, then call and cancel. Don't give them a reason, just in case you end up having to apply again.

Say "I've decided to pursue another direction, I wish you the best of luck in finding the right person for the position."

It would be best to say something like "Thank you for the opertunity but I am wanting to go in another direction." Or say another line of work... They will understand if your honest.
