Here lately I've been having problems waking up. I mean Im aware of what is going on around me but my body doesn't move. My brain tells my body to get up and my body just lies there. Has this happened to you before? I might go see a doctor about this. Please help if you know what to do. Its starting to scare me now.

Well, I've been like that, but just from being lazy! lol. But really, i wouldn't make it a possibility to see a doctor. Definently go see a doctor! Get medicaton! that is the best answer.

Good luck with your problem.

It's known as sleeping parathesia. The body is " numb " but the mind is active. It is a common disorder. Your mind is ahead of your body responses. Are you on any medications?? A victim of Domestic Violence?? Any symptoms of burning, tingling sensations that bother you as you are trying to fall asleep or awaken you while you are asleep?? Sorry for the questions but, such things can cause what you are experiencing. Best advice, contact your Doc in regards to what's happening, call SOON. I hope that this helps and Good Luck.

I'd be worried too, especially if you're not taking any medications, and you haven't been through an emotional wringer lately. See if it persists. If it does, see the doc. Hmmm. Do you mean that your body is not responding to normal signals upon awakening? See the doctor, pronto.

Dear friend, it is perfectly normal.

Let me help you understand this:

You woke, you want to get up, but your body has not received the information that you would like to get up. This means your brain is slighty awake, not fully, and the function from your brain to your alert body is still dead asleep. This is from being overly tired.
