IT DOES TO LEARN FROM IT

I think that the concept that "everything happens for a reason" implies a belief in a Creator who is interested personally in an individual, thus is an idea more likely to be supported by theists/the religious. The statement also suggests that life is meaningful, a possibility generally accepted or hoped by the majority of people. In a purely scientific vein, the phrase is valid through the process of cause and effect going back through time to the onset of the Universe: if any event had transpired differently, however apparently insignificant, then the entirety of cosmic experience would have been altered from that juncture. So, there are several points of view from which the words might indeed represent truth.

It's a way of rationalising things that happen to you and trying to see a positive side for all the bad things that happen to you. If you always took the bad to be bad and nothing else then you'd live a pretty miserable life. It's basically the same saying as "every cloud has a silver lining" and "when god shuts a door he opens a window". The power of positive thinking.

If you look at it in a purely clinical way, everything *does* happen for a reason. I missed the bus - it happened for a reason - that I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed on time. I failed an exam - it happened for a reason - that I didn't revise well enough or that I'm just stupid. My cat got run over - it happened for a reason - I left the door open and Tiddles ran out into the road. Apply whatever reason you want - and if it makes you feel better about things or helps you learn for the future then all the better.

It stems from a belief in predestination or some kind of god or higher being who is in control of everything. Many of the Christian "intellectuals" love to talk about purpose. Look at Miles Munroe.

The truth is that not everything happens for a reason. Some things do, but not all things. Is there some kind of god out there carefully planning the heads or tails fall of a coin I flip 100 times? No. There's this little thing called chance.

But some people will deny the existence of chance. These people like to tell themselves that things happen for a reason, so they will be able to be at ease in bad situations. "X happened to me which is horrible, but everything happens for a reason, so things aren't as bad as they seem." Bullsh!t. Cause and effect or random chance. Nothing more.

Everything happens for a reason in life. From Birth to Death. Everything in between that you are living and on this earth to learn from life experiences. The reasons you have for your personal life you have to look within why you think the reason happened at that very moment of time of your life.

There is a reason behind everything that had happened to you and the actions that were taken. Think about it.

Everything happens for multiple reasons. Life is a learning experience.

If you loose your job, it may be there is something more suitable for you. It may be that your job was not good for you or that you have grown passed that now.

Wisdom comes from experience.

It all helps to develop the eternal soul.

The final reason for things happening, is that we turn to God and become eternally happy.
No regrets! Gods plan is perfect!

Things can happen because of:
1. Chance, chance happens to all men (Bible)
2. You Reap what You have Sown (Bible--and the world calls it "what goes around comes around")
3. devil
4. GOD (when HE can help--HE was Legally Kicked out of this Universe by Adam)
5. Scientific Laws so on so on...

Only GOD could tell us EXACTLY why something Happened--even at that, we probably couldn't Live Long Enough on this Earth to UnderStand it all.

So there! Take your Pick!

To grow and mature, and to not put your trust in mankind...Everything happens for a reason and a season, because of many reasons. Look later down the line, not everything that looks good, feels good, you think is good. Just wasn't good enough for us, that is why things and people get removed out of our pathway. Friends come and go, we learn from them, learn to live, learn to appreciate who we are, and becoming more Christ like, he's all about love...

Lots of people say everything happens for a reason as a means of comforting those who are confused by unpleasant circumstances out of their control.

Because that's what they believe. Everything I have seen in my life would seem to suggest the opposite. Good people suffer while predators get fat. Inconvenient truths are not appreciated by the masses. In the sense that we could quite possibly create our own reality, then we are being unreasonable, and things tend to, and will continue to happen, for no reason.

Because it's a cause and effect reality we inhabit.

When you fall and hurt yourself, gravity is the reason... or the root that tripped you... or the jerk who shoved you... or perhaps even your own carelessly tied shoelace.

Even more complex chains of events always have a reason. Just because we can't always perceive it doesn't mean there isn't one (or more) reasons why things happen the way they do.
