.....okay, the spelling mistakes really make me worry...

with that said, the only person that can go on the birth certificate is the real father. the real father has to give up rights to the baby so your boyfriend can adopt him down the road if that is what he wants to do.

you really need to go back to school sweetheart. If he can spell and put a sentence together than you he should definately help out with the baby. I am sure he can technically adopt the child if he wants to. Your marriage would not affect the legal father of the child directly. use spell check

Christina is correct: the biological father's name goes on the birth certificate and your boyfriend may not adopt your child formally unless the biological father chooses to give up his parental rights.

Don't lie on the certificate.

Whether or not you can get the biological father to give up his rights, your boyfriend can still be there for you and your child, though.

Even if you marry your boyfriend before the child is born, it won't make him the biological father, but he can be a loving and devoted father all the same.

You're lucky to have a stand up guy at your side.

Uh, sorry . . . but this is a really bad idea. Bio dad has rights. You need to consult an attorney. You are also entitled to child support from bio dad.

And the baby has rights too. He (or she) has the right to know his (or her) father. Even if bio dad does not wish to maintain contact, your child has a right to know who his bio father really is . . . if for nothing else than the correct medical history.

Sorry, but you really need to consult an attorney.

You SHOULD NOT LIE on the birth certificate.

Put the bio father's name down as the father.

legally i am not sure. emotionally, yes. if he really wants to help you and be there for your future baby, are you are ok with him being a dad, than yes. It sounds great that he wants to be there for you and your baby. good luck.

Why not just say at the hospital that he is the dad. Is not like they are going to question you.
