they are very well done in how you composed them. try getting down at the animals level instead of just quarter angled shots. also see if you can get the animal above you, while its still on the ground.

You have very cute pets! Watch your backgrounds. Also get down to their level. Most of your shots were from above, which is not the best angle for pets or kids. Everything you posted was a mediocre snapshot, but you did seem to capture their personalities pretty well. Now work on composition and lighting. If you have an image working program, use it to adjust levels and contrast to give your images more punch.

I would suggest getting a book or two on beginning photography. Learn about camera settings and what they do, learn about lighting and composition. Your p&s camera will have limitations, but learn to work within those and your images will improve as you practice.

Good luck, have fun, and give your fur-babies a big hug and kiss!

Oooohhh, cute kitties!

Your pics are ok. I'd need to know more about your gear and editing tools to judge them.

Is your camera a point and shoot digital? If it is and it has that shutter delay then they are ok.

If you're shooting with a DSLR and have removable flash and lenses then you are not using your gear and mind to the fullest potential.

Side view of the long hair beagle is very nice.
As well as the nose touching one.

Try to avoid flash.
Think about where the light is coming from.
Consider the background, if you are able to throw it out of focus, do so. That or reposition yourself to simplify or minimize background.

Get on your subjects level. I noticed many of your shots are shooting down on them.

If you want to really get into photography and have some money to invest get yourself a used digital SLR, a short telephoto zoom, a short wide angle zoom and a fast fixed normal lens. Also invest in a flash you can bounce light with so shadows aren't to harsh.

Then invest in a photoshop 5.0 LE for about $15 on eBay.

Here's a photo lesson in as few words as possible.
•Look around the subject, remove distracting items by changing your angle or physically removing them.

Keep these elements in mind when shooting, the more in each photo the better.

Try to capture
•Mood
•Motion
•Emotion

Seek out
•Action
•Reaction
•Interaction

From the images on the page you've got very basic skills. Lots of room for improvement.

The woods is a cool shot. Your animal shots suffer from one common problem. They're all shot from above looking down at the animal. Don't be afraid to get all the way down to their level. Your pix will greatly improve. Pretty good effort though.

Beautiful animals, I love them! I think you have a talent for capturing the moods and emotions of animals, something I haven't seen very often. Keep it up! By the way, my favourite is the one with the cat and dog looking like they're about to kiss. Very cute.
