Drinking is the action of taking in fluids, especially liquids and most importantly water, into the stomach via the mouth and throat. Water collects in the mouth cavity and is then drained into the stomach in measured bursts by the process of swallowing.

Among humans, drinking has acquired important social functions including the celebration of communally observed events such as birthdays and marriages, to unify the group around a common purpose, and to get wrecked in drinking games at the gazillionth repetition of Pascal's Wager.

Was is it betteriage who started it? I was wondering.

Didn't it start when there were four (or more) Pascal's Wager questions in about that many hours? Someone suggested making a drinking game out of questions like that. The suggestion was embraced with great enthusiasm and continues to confuse newbies to this day.

If you don't know what Pascal's Wager is, just wait. We never go too many days without a version.

Have you ever played a game called "Take a shot"? It's where you take a shot of whiskey each time a character in a movie, TV show, or comic does a certain repetitive action. For example, if you are a fan of comic books, you can take a shot each time Jimmy Olsen gets some weird super power, or Batman appears to be gay, or Wonder Woman is shown in a bondage situation. If you're a fan of R&S, you take a shot each time some Christian says, "You can't prove God doesn't exist!" or "Isn't it better to believe and find out God doesn't exist, than to not believe and find out he does?" or similar things that we've heard a thousand times before.

It is a response to frequently asked (often several times an hour) questions to which adequate answers have been provided. As the user failed to use the search function while asking the question (I wonder what might have been yielded if you had used it), the question need not have been asked.

Atheists take a drink to questions that have been asked like a million times already or ones they think are totally stupid.

Drinking is drinking down a liquid or puree or whatnot. that is my definition lol. Drinking can also refer to drinking alcohol. but unsure how that ever became associated with alcohol.

When someone asks a question that has been asked a billion times daily like "Atheists, can you disprove the existence of god?" we drink. Just an inside joke.

The atheists (and a few other non-christians like me) play a little game. Whenever a Christian asks a really bigoted question like "omg how can you live like this knowing you're going to burn in hell?" we drink.

When stupid questions are asked that have been asked many many times before, there is drinking.

It was started by bettierage when somehow Christians all got a memo to barrage us with questions like, "Atheists, what if you're wrong?"

It expanded into pretty much every ad nauseum question. Drinking game style.
