i watch a lot of random live webcams of various places just cause i like that sort of thing...but what kind of webcams are out there that can that can stand up to outdoor weather conditions like that? and what if its in a remote area, what type of power supply would they use? something pretty long life i would imagine...does anyone have any links to the type of webcams they use for this sort of thing? and links to power supplys too? i really basicly just want to know what it takes to keep these cams up and running....even in remote areas. help please? not looking for anything specific, i just want to know what type of cameras and battery supplys are used, and how they are kept running. use laymans terms here, dont get too technical on me please! how do these cams work??

please note this isnt for anything creepy or weird. i just like watching webcams from places like town squares in scotland, or this little random concert place in a field in finland...im just curious how it all works, and what types of cameras can work in all sorts of weather conditions like that, and about how long batterys last if they are needed.
