if your mother was in the hospital, was in excrutiating pain, suffering from a terminal disease or whatever, would u honestly make her suffer till the moment she dies? if she asked to be put out (euthanasia), how could u deny her without for selfish reasons?

Thank you!

I get sick and tired of people saying "suicide is selfish." Shut up! You're the selfish ****** who would rather they continue to live in agony just so you can keep them around for your own comfort.

I would grant her request! I know if it were me I would beg to be just put to sleep or whatever...pull the plug!
I know it would be SO HARD though...but yeah I would hate to see anyone I loved suffer in pain.
And I know my loved ones would immediately be with the Lord! So that does give great comfort.
(oh and this is not suicide- if they are GOING to die anyway, like there is NO chance they can live anymore, but they are going to suffer until their last breath, that is when I would pull the plug, only then--- only if they have NO chance at survival)
I had to make that clear, I don't know if that is what you were saying....but I figured it was since you used the word "terminal") But then I deserve to go through all the pain! LOL, seriously.....I do. But the most important thing is it is ALL in God's hands.

In some instances, it can also be a selfish act by the person who wishes to die as well......selfish in that they may care only about getting themselves out of all the pain and anguish, but caring not for all those friends and family members who they are leaving behind to grieve and suffer. caring not for someone who may have been mutually dependent on them.....say, for example, a small child. i'm not saying that this may always be the case, but we need to look at it from this perspective as well.

Going to play the devils advocate and disagree with the others who claim its playing God. In actuality i think keeping the patients alive if there is no hope for survival or cure is playing God since without intervention they would have died. So its because of our technology we are even able to keep them alive and if there is no hope then we are most likely playing God with their life.

My mother knows she can count on me to do the right thing in such a scenario. I would help her end her pain, if I were truly convinced that there were no other way and that was her express wish.

I wouldn't do it as that is playing God with life. Who am I to say that even with her last breath that her life is done before it is really done.
Too many people are messing around with saying who is worthy of living already in this world, I am not going to join the crowd.

Have you ever heard of obeying the law????
aside from that, I really feel that our life belongs to God, not for us to end when it's just easier.

At what point are you going to say to go ahead and kill some one who is depressed, and healthy aside from that, who says they want their life to end???

Then when do you just kill some one and say they asked for it???

See where this can go very quickly.

My mother was and always will be the only one I answer to. If she wanted to die, I'd help her.
