Many religions have their source in one guy who said he had a vision while he was by himself. What religions out there have their source in a mass revelation?

(Not, "God came to me in a vision the other day," but rather, "God came to me in front of millions of witnesses who all saw and heard the same thing.")

in judaism, as the hebrew bible tells it, G-d revealed himself to the entire israelite people at mount sinai as they were leaving egypt.

Exodus 19:9 - "Behold, I am coming to you in the thickness of the cloud, in order that the people hear it when I speak to you, so that they will believe in you forever."

Exodus 20:15 - "And all the people saw the voices and the torches, the sound of the ram's horn, and the smoking mountain, and the people saw and trembled; so they stood from afar."

the passage also implies that the soul of every jew who would ever be born was also there that day watching.

Deuteronomy 29:13 - "But not with you alone do I make this covenant and this oath; but with those standing here with us on this day before the Lord our God, and also with those who are not standing here with us on this day."

As Jewish Girl has already said, Revelation at Mt. Sinai was witnessed by 600,000 men of military age. Extrapolate that to include older men, women and children. Is that public enough for everyone?
