Of course they are - how else would the judicial system work?
Justice : the administering of deserved punishment or reward.
Vengeance : infliction of injury, harm, humiliation, or the like, on a person by another who has been harmed by that person
I am must be vengeful because I would want a paedophile to have their genitals cut off and a warning tattooed on their forehead.
I would want violent attackers of any sort to be beaten within an inch of their life.
I want criminals to be put in the prisons that are completely against all human rights - no privacy, no comfort, hardly enough to eat, made to work, sleep deprivation. Basically make the prison a punishment that it simply makes the crimes not worth it.

No, I'm not. I used to be one, in my younger days. For me it was "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth". I often retaliate when someone hurts or angers me. I have somehow mellowed over the years and though sometimes I feel like avenging, I think what it will do to my heart and blood pressure so, I cease from doing exactly what is in my mind. I don't know about other people but, I guess, they are vengeful otherwise we wouldn't have wars raging on around us.
