why cant i switch to 1080i?

Question

i bought a hd plug for my 360(from pellican). and when i switch the plug to hd my tv gose blue. i have a 30inch flat screen LCD tv. so it shoud be able to work. but it dont.

and another thing when the plug in tv mode i try to change the settings to 1080i, but it dose the same thing as switching the plug to hd

why dose this happen and how can i fix it?

Can you explain what is this "plug"?

There are two main ways to send HD signals to a TV: component cables (Red/Green/Blue) or HDMI.
If you don't use one of these cables, your TV can't receive HD.
(VGA will work as well).

(You can't switch the "plug", you need to setup the Xbox).
