Military pay is based on rank and length of service. A person of the same rank and length of service get paid the same as another in a different job.
Having said that, however.....the more dangerous the job, the more the "incentive" pay is. If you fly, you get flight pay, etc.
Also, the military is in the habit of giving bonuses for people enlisting/re-enlisting in jobs that are shorthanded -- but you have to remember that they're shorthanded because they usually suck and nobody wants to do them.

Your question is asked by a hundred people each day, but in different ways. The fact still remains that people in the military are paid according to their rank. As an example, an E-4 gets paid the same salary in the Marine Corps as an E-4 in the Navy, Army, Coast Guard or Air Force.
The only difference will be combat pay if they're in a combat zone. Extra money or allotment is paid if they travel, or are required to live off base. Otherwise, all ranks, regardless of job description, are paid the same rate of pay. As you advance in rank, your pay scale increases according to your new rank.

Nuc's
Nuclear power people. Very hard, very few, Big Bounuses. In in the Navy, they hard to recruit, and every civilian Nuclear power plant wants them afterward. Add in Most are Sub guys, so they get sub pay as well. Who knows , you may be the next Jimmy Carter. Re-enlistment Bounuses of $60-75K Are what I'm talking about here. You don't get that for being a Mess guy or Paint chipper.

Rank is the biggest factor in pay, but certain fields have bonus pays, for example navy seals get, dive pay, jump pay, demolition pay, hardzard duty pay, and language proficiency pay which add up to about $800 extra a month, i dont know if any other field give more bonuses. Also currently there is a 40,000 dollar enlistment bonus for SEALs and up to 75K for enlisted and 150k for critical special skills reenlistment bonus

Navy Chief of Staff. I got fed up with the Army after nine years and told the colonel one day that either they make me a general or I'm outta here. Oh well. It's been a nice civilian life too.
