A great many people use religion as a security blanket, as an identity to which they belong. There is comfort in numbers, both for the follower and the leader, so a good many pastors avoid rocking the boat by presenting any part of the Christian message that might require a person to change their lifestyle. Many churches now are like clubs. As long as you pay your dues and say the pledge, how you behave doesn't matter.

You need to do some travelling, Kristina K. We have a MUCH more vibrant bible-based Christianity in the USA than anywhere in Europe and Canada.
That's especially true of the Southern United States.
Not saying we're perfect and that we shouldn't FIGHT the watering-down of Christianity. But we're certainly not the worst.

My friend be encouraged it is not only in the USA but in different parts of the world at large. To answer, people will normally take the path of least resistance. This is what cause people to water down Christianity and instead of becoming disciples of Christ which requires discipline and a totally surrendered life to Christ. They (or rather us) are just contented to be mere baby believers who barely (or do not) know how to discern evil from good. These babes exist on the milk of the Word of God instead of meat. (Check out Heb 5:13)

because it what we know. It's something that is comfortable, we don't have to reach for God, or Strive for God...we just go to church on Sunday and that is that. There are however some who know that faith is radical that it can't/shouldn't be confined to this localized, watered down, Sunday only crap. Faith in the Bible burns away everything but those things filled with God. It leaves no room for resting on your laurels...it drives, hurts, sooths, pushes, and shapes us into radical people.
That path of Watered down faith is so much easier...but the yield is pour...God say that the path is narrow to get to him...and I know that faith without action, Faith that doesn't consume everything that I am...is wasted.
"...two paths diverged in a yellow wood,
and I, sad I could not travel both, I
took the road less traveled"
Take the road less travel...
Live expansively in God...
God's blessings and radical grace keep you strong when you test your faith and may you find that you had the ability to fly all along.

Very good question. I think people tend to follow people, and well the hearts of man are far from God. Because we have such an easy life in the west we have do not know the meaning of struggle. THis turns us away from God because we become relaxed in our sinful ways. We do not truly understand what it is like to live far from him in suffering. I believe one day the west will fall and God will judge. I cant see the way things are going on much longer.
I to fall short and do not do enough, we must get back to GOd in a major way.

What watered down non-version of Christianity? What country teaches the real full story of Christianity? What books should we be reading that teaches the real Christianity?

Watered down?
It's better than the ancient polluted Christianity from the dark ages starting with the Council at Nicea.

"Watered-down" version in the USA? You've GOT to be kidding! If that's the case, I have much sympathy for the rest of the world!

Several potential reasons; I usually lately chaulk it up lately to man is a false god (perhaps that is part of why man in USA accepts deviations to God's word) and 'majority rules' not 'purity rules'.
