Or is still a bit to young. I am concerned that she may get a bit over weight as she has been done. She is very active and likes her food, will eat absolutley anything edible, but worry for when she gets a bit older she may start to fill out. She is the first b itch I have owned, all other dogs have been males, and the only one that we have had neutered.

She is fed on "NUTRO" adult and or "JAMESWELBELOVED"adult mixed with either vegetables,pasta,rice or a small amount of tinned meat (a desert spoonful)just to take the boredom off the dry food.

Your b1tch has been neutered - neutered applies to either dogs or b1tches, it means neither male or female. B1tches are spayed, dogs are castrated but either operation is neutering - some people think they know everything!!!!!
Anyway, it would be far better for your girl if you just cut down on her ordinary food - if necessary. Just feed her as normal or cut down on what she normally has if she appears to be putting on weight. Many people who have tried these "light" diets have found it makes no difference to their dog's weight anyway.

What's your meaning of "Light"?..anyhow, I think what your doing is okay....how much are you giving her and how many times a day?She's still a semi-puppy and has a little more growing to do.

If anything...watch the snacking.

You may want to change to a higher quality dog food. I'm really big on educating others about nutritional food for dogs...something most vet's won't share...what a shame, because they are making money off our sick animals. They would rather give then medicine then to tell us to just change their diets...I don't understand this kind of thinking.

Stay far away from every day brands you can find at any local market....they all about mass-production...and not healthy pets. They are full of fillers that only make your dog THINK they are full and have NO nutritional value and are not digestable.

Watch out for:

* By-products...they concider this to be proper proteine (hooves, feathers, becks, fur)...WHAT!
* wheat, corn, soy...top causes of allergys
* BHA...preserver...for longer shelf life...it's anti-freeze for cars
* Powdered Cellulose...they say this a good source of fiber..it's saw dust from wood

this list goes on and on

What you need to look for are things you can read and know...know what your dog is eating...Look for:

* Chicken (chicken meal or ground is okay but...Chicken is better) same for ...beef, lamb, salmom,turkey
* Barley, oatmeal, brown rice
* Perserved with Tocopherol....a vitamin E (or A)
* Flaxseed
* Apples
* Carrots

this list should go on and on

I hope this encourages you to know what your giving your beloved pet...you want the best right?...to live long and healthy right?...so chose the best food. It cost more but not a whole lot more...there worth it anyway!

Check out...Pet Food Express..they have good quality foods (NOT Pet Co..buzz..wrong answer) or your local Pet Feed store.

:)

Ya say she is very active so she will need her nourishment. Don't start worrying about her becoming fat yet. My females were all spayed and never got fat. As long as she is active she will be fine. Terriers are such peppy little things.

It isn't the spaying itself that causes females to become overweight. It is the dog getting older and lazy. Just keep her active and she will be fine. One hint is to NOT feed her a bunch of leftovers from the table. Just feed as you are now. She sounds very healthy. When she gets older then can change her food to a special diet for older dogs. Right now a normal active dog needs her food.

If she is fine right now, I wouldn't necessarily change diets. I would just make sure she is ONLY getting the recommended amount of food, no extra. And keep her active. If she looks like she is gaining weight, then reduce her food or put her on a light diet. Talk to your vet at her next check-up, he or she will keep you updated on how your dog's weight should be. Kudos to you for being concerned with weight issues in your dog. Too many people think it is "cute" for them to be chubby and are just killing them with kindness since they can't seem to put them on a diet adn keep them healthy.

I wouldn't change anything except if she is still on puppy food you should change her to adult food at this point.

Just use the directions on the food as a feeding guideline as adults don't require the same food intake as puppies. If the dog has a tendency to gain too much weight just cut back on the amount of food.

My daughter did no longer get ANY tooth till she grew to become into sixteen months previous and that i did no longer locate it too quite a number of a project. The gums are notably stressful and can 'bite' maximum issues. needless to say apples etc are a no-no yet something delicate (no longer mushed) he might desire to handle tremendous. The gagging might desire to be that he in simple terms isn't used to good nutrients somewhat than the shortcoming of tooth. Persevere :) mentioned meals: Spaghetti bolognaise Macaroni cheese Toast and butter (tremendous to suck) Bananas Strawberries (some human beings think of toddlers would not have those yet it is as much as you) Potatoes (mashes, baked) with cheese

I have found that portion control and exercise will prevent intact and altered males and females to stay at an acceptable weight. They key is to feed a high quality diet and keep your dog on a regular exercise program.

She is too young to be feeding a light diet. She is still growing & needs the nutrients.
By the way, females are not neutered, they are spayed!!!

Well if the dog gets allot of activity she should be fine , you can heave her on a healthy diet not a big deal but you don't heave to. And besides what are you feeding her now ?

Neutering is what they do to males. You SPAY females.
Anyway, spaying does not mean they will gain weight. Most b itches maintain their weight just fine. Feed her normally unless she starts to gain weight, but don't feed her less just because she's been fixed.
