Okay, first off, his tail was cut off by his parents owners when he was born. We've had him for 6mths now, and what will happen to his ears? It's probably too late to crop them, but will he have hearing problems? Any infections I should be aware of? Because he is actually very healthy right now, and yes, I'm very aware of the Wobbly syndrome thing. He has plenty of calcium too. Will he be okay in the future?

Having natural ears will not cause any problems. I have had many Dobies, all of which with natural ears and not one has had a problem. I personally love the floppy ears and they don't scare people as badly with natural ears. They are still great watch dogs though.
Dobermans when well bred are very healthy, but just make sure you watch for signs of Wobblers, and heart issues.
Also, Dobies are prone to Von Willebrands disease which is a bleeding disorder so be sure to have your dog tested for it prior to neutering.

Actually you have more chance of ear infections with cropped ears then without. HAving the ears flop are actually a protective nature. He can hear find either way! It is to late to crop his ears. Sorry! You wouldn't want to deal with that anyway. Its very painfull for a dog and messy.

Dobermans have floppy ears unless they are cropped. If he has floppy ears, just make sure you check them regularly and clean them when needed so that ear infections don't develop.

The usual cleaning will take care of any infections and no, not cropping the ears will not cause any hearing problems. It looks as if you are on top of any concerns in your dogs breed.

Yes, he's too old to have them cropped.

He'll be fine, lots of dobermans go through life uncropped, just practice good ear maintenance.
