Yes or no, depending on whether you can attend. Also if the invitation is addressed to two of you and you are able to go, you can simply write in "2" on the card.

When r.s.v.p. is on an invitation, it means that the person hosting the event would like a response (an answer) about if you are coming or not. It's also a good idea to include how many people are coming with you. If it says r.s.v.p. and a phone number then, you should call to respond. In fancier invitations there could be a response card that you have to fill out with your name, # of people, and whether you are coming.
Sometimes you may see r.s.v.p. regrets only. This means you should respond only if you can't go. I hope this helped clear this up for you...

When a person asks for an R.S.V.P., they are asking you to please let them know whether or not you are attending. Often, people overlook this and place a burden on a host to ensure they have plenty of food, etc.

It means Répondez S'il Vous Plaît (Please Reply or Answer). You are suppose to call and say if you are going to be attending the event or not. Sometimes these kind of invitations have a little card that you can fill out saying if you are going or not. If there is no such card, then just call and confirm or not.

If you are writing the invitation, then put the name and contact information of whoever is keeping track of who is coming to the event. If you received the invitation, then you respond with who is coming to the event, how many people they are bringing, etc.
