"poota".....im guessing, sex? they said it on Mad TV and im curious why people were laughing when one of the characters said that poota means party in spanish(but we knew he was joking, it didnt literally mean party).

It means whore and it's spelled "puta." Some people also use it as an expletive when they, for example, stub their toe.

Most of the answers have it right. Puno, however poses a problem because you mention some Spanish guys. Were you in Spain? Spanish is spoken in many other nations, not just Spain, but most of Latin America for starters. In Mexico that word could mean a number of things, and locooo can mean weirdo or a number of other meanings. You need to specify where this happened because meanings are sometimes regional.

well, that word is whore, f-u-c-k, and some times b-i-t-c-h(ex. 'hijo de puta' means son of a b-i-t-c-h)
but it all depends in the context of which is used.
