I definitely have avatar bias. I like original names and avatars. Also if I don't like the looks of the cartoon avatar its hard for me to like the person.
Sure it sounds shallow but at least I'm honest. :)

I don't pay any attention to the picture or name of the poster. I figure they settled for the name they display the same way I did by trying about a dozen that were rejected because they were already taken then in desperation just taking whatever they could get. And since most of the avatars are cartoon like pics, why would anyone take them seriously?

I don't usually notice the name or pay attention to the avatar. Those with goofy avatars often ask intelligent questions in a goofy way.
If their avatar is obscene I don't even read the question.
I am pretty new here, that is I come and go, so I'm just starting to equate an avatar with a name.

Not anymore. I've been here long enough to figure out who's being serious and who's just kidding around.
Although a few people do surprise me from time to time.
Yourself, for example, I'm going to assume you are a Christian. That doesn't affect my response any to a question that you might ask... unless it is an offensive question aimed at a specific group.

My response is based on the content of the question. How well it's asked, grammar, spelling and rhetoric all play a role in how I respond as well as whether there is or is not a logical fallacy involved in the question.
Also, the reputation of the asker, if it's somebody I recognize, plays a certain role in how I will answer.

for me, not usually. sometimes, if i know the person's usual attitude that will effect it. usually i try not to take that into account.
in G&WS i have done experiments, and noticed others, changing the gender of the avatars will greatly change the response.

confident. i do unlike blatantly icky avatars, like with skulls or blood or something religious or racist. And if a recognition is like "domebaby" I determine the questions are not going to be properly worth my time.

If you have a Jesus avatar and your question isn't very Christ-like it might color my answer but I always try to be respectful.

No one except the WSIDR, whose avatar I can't help but laugh at.
