Her food = food

Your food = love

It's time to teach her proper manners while you're eating. If she can't behave herself, put her in her crate or another room.

This is typical of a dog that doesn't think you are the leader. She thinks that she is the leader of you - so how dare you eat and not her!

You need to crate or otherwise put the dog in another room - you eat first - then she eats. When walking the dog - she needs to walk at your side or behind - leaders walk in the front. She is never to be allowed to walk through a door in front of you either.

With my boxer, I place her food down and she is not allowed to eat until given a command - this also reinforces that you are the leader and she must follow you. You can start doing this exercise by placing your dog on leash - place the food down and then hold the dog back - give sit command, when she sits - give her a piece of food. Then give her a release command - mine is "OK" - then she is allowed to eat. Do this everytime - and after about 30 times and she will always look to you before eating.

Dogs will naturally take the leadership position if they do not get it from their owners.

Our dog has his own chair at the table. He has some soft wet dog food on his place mat and eats. He has his own section of table (like a tv tray) and a chair. He may stare at us for a moment but when he gets his 2 to 3 tblespns of wet food (which is a treat to have because he usually gets dry most of the time) and a biscuit on the side he is less apt to bark and beg. It sounds crazy but it keeps him from barking, whining, or jumping. We only do this for foods like Pizza, Chinese take out, or just take out in general. The other days that we cook he knows he is not allowed.
I trained him like you see on the Dog Whisperer. Btw, I have had Tino way before he came on tv. Anyway, each time he would jump, whine, or bark, I would nudge his neck and go shshsht and after about 4 or 5 times of that at each meal time he learned it within a week.
Also, dogs are instictively gorgers. They will eat something like pizza or meat and pig out on it until they are sick and litteraly throw up. In pack society Alpha - you - would get first pick of food and eat till he's full but if the low guy - your dog - got to it first he would eat till he was sick to eat in a hurry before Alpha discovered it. Also, you dog looks to you as the "Mom or Dad" to his litter. In nature, mom/dad would kill an animal tear off hunks of meat, swallow then come back and throw it up for her pups to eat. Don't have arms so how else are they going to carry it. Your pup looks to you in all these ways so you have to show the dominance as pack leader and then let them know when it is ok to eat. Good luck on the training.

person dogs are only coaching doggies the thank you to act. they gained't placed up with tough play and overexcitement, so then your dogs are remarkable showing submission to them. there is no longer something incorrect with this, and is rather solid to educate your dogs the thank you to act as they age. it may quit as quickly as they cool down a splash and start to mature, that can take until they're 2 finding on the dogs. some dogs are only clearly extra submissive by utilising nature and could by no capacity strengthen out of it in the event that they at the instant are not remarkable socialized and experienced to have extra self-properly worth.

they all do this! Do not feed your dog table scraps. I never did and will not start. But they still beg. you have to set her boundries. my puppy sees me or my hubbie eatting and he goes on his bed, he is not aloud near us while eatting if hes having a bad day i put him in the crate till we are done.."i guess some stuff smells better" You will have to be consistant with her lol i had to keep putting him back on his bed finally after 10 minutes he figured that im not going to get it so i will stop trying.i put toys on his bed sometimes he gets up and starts eatting his own food. I hope this helps you. Try it it worked for me. Good luck!

it's normal for them to beg for food, but it's up to you to teach them not to bark and sit under the table while you eat. she's just a puppy. anything that smells good (like pizza) they want a piece or a slice even if they are full.

perhaps feed your puppy at the same time you eat your food, maybe she'll leave you alone.

As a professional dog trainer for over 16 years, I have to tell you my strong opinion that you need these group classes for obedience training. http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?lVs3

Other pet warehouses are there to get you to buy their products and hang around their strore. And their trainers are their employees...never forget they have an agenda. Most of the trainers have very little education--if they had actual training and skills they wouldn't be there making just over minimum wage--trust me on this. But even if they did have experience and talent...a group setting is a terrible place for learning to take place. It's distraction training and it is the LAST phase of training not the first. You wouldn't have your child try to do their homework in a toy store, would you? Of course not...the level of distraction would be too high! It's the same with dogs. Having said that, these classes can be an excellent way to socialize dogs...but not to train them. And while they appear to be cheaper than a professional trainer...you have to attend many more sessions to get the same results because of the poor learning environment--so you wind up spending MORE money for less training than you would with a professional. Save your money and go to someone who actually knows how to train dogs. OR, read books and try to train your dog yourself. There is nothing they train at a Petsmart or Petco that you can't do yourself with a couple of hours of reading.

You have spoiled her and she wants to share your food. We have two spoiled brats also and those sad eyes just look at you pleading for a bite to eat. Try giving her a couple of dog biscuits. This works with our dogs.
Good Luck
