I am 25 years old and right now cannot run very fast or for long distance. How can I turn this into a 2 mile 10 minute run?

Even better question is how can I get exited about running? Any safety tips for running in the Nevada desert and brutal heat?

Distance is all about pacing yourself, find an even pace that you can do for the entire race. Dont explode out of the blocks, start at the pace you can maintain through out every lap, then through weight training and pratice you can slowly increase that pace.

Very few people can run 2 miles in 10 minutes. If you want to run farther and faster you need to put in the time and mileage. It takes time to develop your cardiovascular system necessary to run distances. Be consistent and run 3 to 5 times per week. After a month you can increase your distance and start running harder 1 or 2 days per week. Alternate easy and hard days. Run for time and put in speed work, run easy for a few miles at a pace where you can talk while running. You must have recovery days between the hard days. The best way to run in the heat is to run early in the morning while it is cool. Drink lots of water, you will become dehydrated before you are thirsty. If you do not enjoy running you can listen to an ipod, but be certain you can hear the traffic and noise of the area you are running.

train for time not for distance run 30 minutes rather than 6 miles. ok thats what I do you may adjust the time but the point is there, run for time and spend time doing it run morning and/ or night especially in the desert and a sports drink or 2 ready at you car or house, its better to drink extra when you run so that you have to stop and pee than run and get dehidrated, get a good pair of shoes too otherwise your just wasting time and causing unnecessary pain

start jogging with your dog around your neighborhood or if there is a hill, run up and down about 4 or 5 times then run for a straight away for about 5-10 minutes
