The dog needs to see a vet. If the dog has ringworm, it needs some medication to get rid of it.

Ringworm is a fungus that can be very itchy and painful. It also spreads to humans.

Ringworm is caused by a fungal infection. It is very contagious and can be given to you also. You need to get it treated immediately because there may already be ringworm spores around your home. Take your dog to the vet and get some anti-fungal medication. When you get back, you may need to clean your home thoroughly to get rid of the ringworm spores. For the carpet, you can steam clean it or simply vacuum it. If you vacuum it, make sure you throw the bag away because it won't contain the spores. Good luck.

It can be easily resolved by taking the dog into the vet. No sweat, but get the dog in soon.
