If you have leaf springs any 1/2 ton rear end with a 10 or 12 bolt pan/ring gear.

If you have the independant coil spring suspension your best bet is to have the original rear-end rebuilt. Any shop that handles 18-wheeler drivetrains down to lgith trucks can do this for you for around $500-???. You take the rear end off and drop it off at their shop. They'll pull the axles and bearings and seals and flush out the axle tubes and put in new bearings, seals, and diferential/pinion gear bearings and replace any gears that are worn out like the ring and pinion or the spider gears. They'll set the gear lash, properly, between the ring and pinion gears and give you a decent warranty.

Powertrain of Indianapolis is the place to go in Indy. This is not a job for shops that do not specialize in this kind of over-haul.

Good Luck!
