I am supposed to go get *blood work* done because I am getting my breast implants redone. What does this mean and what do they test for? I dont want to know if I am sick I would rather just fall over and croak to be honest with you.

They want to know your blood type (in case a transfusion is needed) and whether you have any other medical issues which will be revealed by examining your blood before they do elective surgery. For instance, if they were to learn you have leukemia or a clotting disorder, this would not be the time for a boob job.

It's not a big deal. Usually a single needle stick, and two or three of those teeny vials of blood filled from that one stick. Make sure you're well hydrated, so there's plenty of blood volume.

the Blood Work is a standard test that every provider requests prior to ANY surgery. Basically, it is general lab work to give THEM information about YOU. For like anesthesia and stuff. If they require it and you want the re-work....you gotta do it.

They need to test you for liver problems because, if you have certain problems, the anesthesia could harm or even kill you. You wouldn't want to wake up dead, would you?
