I do, whether one is religious or not. It serves one purpose for the religious, another for historians, another for people who like to read--or write. I'm familiar with a poet who reads it all the time--and he's not religious.
When I was a young child and attended Sunday School, reading the Bible stories in our little books was just like reading from our school readers. So, it was educational in that way, too.

Very much so, but not for the reasons a Christain might typically advocate. I am a Christian, however, I find that as a moral guide the Bible is more confusing than enlightening. As far as its educational value, the Bible is important for raising questions of authorship, authenticity, translation, and interpretation. I don't take the Bilbe literally, nor do I believe it to be one cohesive text authored by God through human agents. It is ridden with misattributions, mistranslations, logical fallacies, and structural inconsistencies. That being said, I consider it a source, but not THE source, of spiritual wisdom. I tend to approach it as a koan composed by many hands over many centuries that focusses one's attention on what is most compassionate AND what is most horrific in a species endowed with free will. I certainly find it difficult to accept any criticism or praise for the text comming from those who have not read it thouroughly and thoughtfully.

Oh yes, absolutely. It definitely led me to atheism. It is also a glimpse into a brutal, barbaric, misogynistic time.

It can be very eye-opening. In fact, it's the main reason I'm an atheist.
