Tammuz, the god of ancient Sumerian and Phoenician mystery teachings, had been born of a virgin, died with a wound in his side and, after three days, rose from his tomb, leaving it vacant with the rock at the rolled aside.

Yep, it sounds like the usual list of alleged, vague similarities between Jesus and a non-Christian "god" with the all-too-familiar lack of citations of original sources to back the claims up with. Show us a side-by-side comparison of passages garnered from the original Tammuz texts (and I'm sure you have them handy as you wouldn't even think of blindly believing such claims without checking them out for yourself... or does your skepticism only apply to things you want to be skeptical of?) and the verses from the bible which you think parallel them, and then maybe we'll consider them. Until then, all you have are a bunch of unsubstantiated claims, all sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Don't think you've stumbled on something amazing. It is well known that the Gospel story drew on elements from previous messiahs through the ages.

Most Christians will just say that

1. You are making this up.
2. They were telling the story of Jesus, just way before he was born.

So, while it is a wonderful point, the people you are aiming it at will not understand it.

just more evidence that the "historical" story of Christ is largely fabricated by the church....

but that is really irrelivant...

the historical christ is unimportant compared to the living Christ, his teachings, his being...
