really does depend on the child and his or her personality - anywhere from 1 to 4 for potty training, 1 to 3 or so for the toddler bed. Some people like to wait as long as possible before moving to a bed. Some push their kids to potty train as quickly as possible. My older son moved to a toddler bed at 16 months, potty trained at 2 1/2. A good friend of our moved their son to a toddler bed at 3 and potty trained at 3 1/2. Whatever works for your family is what's best for you! :)

My daughter was potty trained at 2 and in a toddler bed by 2. It may change with my 6 month old. You should try your hardest to have both of these accomplished by 3 or 3 1/2 though.

I agree with the previous poster. 1-4 when potty training and 1-3 for toddler bed. My oldest son was in a toddler bed at about 14 months. It was a race car bed so that definitely was a piece of cake b/c he loved it so much. We bought a potty early on but then soon realized he had lost interest. We never gave him a schedule for training. he would just follow us to the bathroom and watch us i guess to see how it's done, and a little after his 2nd birthday it's like a light came on and he potty trained himself. which i think is really best. no sense in pressuring a child to do it. just wait until they are ready not when you are ready. and believe me they will let you know. it truly made it an ejoyable experience for all of us by just waiting it out without the pressure.

I would say before they hit 3. Girls yuo can usually start as soon as they hit about 2 where boys usually arent ready till 2 1/2 to 3. Just make sure you aren't hurrying or preasuring the child, but you have them trained by the time they need to go to preschool.
as for a toddler bed. Depends on how the child sleeps. If they go to sleep at night without a fight I would say early 2s but if they fight and try to climb out of the crib you will prob have a worse fight with a bed (because they can get themeselves out) i would say late 2s.
just make sure the child is in a bed by the time they start going to the bathroom without assistance because is frustrating when they are forced to wet themselves at night because they can't get out to go

get them into a bed when they can climb out of their crib/playpen and potty train when they start to notice when they are wet or they want to sit on the potty. we just moved our 2 year old to a bed but my cousin is moving her 10 month old to one cuz she would climb on the side of the play pen to knock it over
