Yes,he is, it is far too dangerous to use this term, because it indicates to his flock that they may find Islam interchangeable with Christianity and IT IS NOT.

Yeah. Allah is not the same as the God of the Bible. There are some major differences between the two gods. To call the Christian God "Allah," in an English-speaking nation would be wrong. In an Arabic nation, "Allah" is the word for God, so Arab Christians call God "Allah." However, they do not practice Islam. The Muslims in those countries are often more extreme, so the differences are obvious in those countries. In America it can be a little harder to tell the difference between Muslims and Christians. To start calling God "Allah" would be catastrophic here.

Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the one true God of Abraham.

Allah is God in Arabic.

The language does not matter:
+ God in English
+ Allah in Arabic
+ Dios in Spanish
+ Dieu in French

Remember God is the title or role and not God's name which is an entirely different discussion.

With love in Christ.

Well, if you want to get all old school and stuff and go back to the language that Jesus used then we would call GOD something close to Allah. I think the Aramaic that Jesus used was Allaha or something like that. I'll have to look it up.

Here you are.

There are other ones, too, just do a search for "aramaic" in YA.

But I agree, it would be kind of strange until we got used to it. But I don't see anything religiously wrong with it.

Yeah, I think the other guy hinted at it, but if Christians started using "Allah" and they also said that "Allah" is triune in nature, (Father, Son, Holy Ghost) then there will be some major problems.

*Is Catholic*

If he means that using the Aramaic equivalent to "deity" then sure.

If he means that "Allah" is the personal name of the Deity, then he is completely out of his mind.

I highly recommend that Muslims write this bishop and tell him that "Allah" is not Father, is not Jesus, is not the Holy Spirit, is not the God of Issac and Jacob, etc.

Catechism of the Catholic Church PROLOGUE

"FATHER,... this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."

"God our Saviour desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

"There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" - than the name of JESUS.
