There are some excellent online resources beginning with the National Cancer Institute, ACS, and People Living with Cancer:

ACS: Introduction to treatment for small cell lung cancer

Medline Plus: Small Cell lung cancer

NCCN: Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology - Small cell lung cancer

And, you can join online support groups specifically for this type of cancer:

ACOR: Mailing list for Small Cell Lung Cancer

Best of luck.

I was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma.

Mine was unusual as it was located in my breast as a primary site.

Normally it is located in the lungs and 99% of patients with this form of lung cancer are smokers.

In my case, the tumour was removed, and then I was given both chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

Your husband's oncologist is in the best position to give you details of prognosis etc, as it is dependant on a wide variety of factors.

I would try the NCCN guidelines for lung cancer. You can find them at http://www.nccn.org/patients/ These are very helpful guidelines and they are developed by the top experts in lung cancer treatment. Hope this helps.
