They forgot to add nursing, radio/ultrasound/mri tech and whole bunch of other medical professions to this.

Kind of scary that in just 2 years of training a 20 year old could be taking care of your life if you're in the hospital. Yikes.

um where does the RN program take 6-8 years? I think you are exaggerating. My cousin went from high school to being an RN in about 2 and a half years. Some pre reqs were required, that was it.

You would have to to have listerally NOTHING but time to get your RN in two years, LVN can be obtained in 2-yrs, but they don't have the same qualifications as an RN. If you'd been through the RN program which takes likd 6-8 yrs you wouldn't be second guessing quite so easily, the RN program is not easy.

Hi, not sure if you are writing from the USA however I am a Podiatrist and my wife is a registered nurse in Australia. I noted the other day in a local newspaper you can become a registered nurse in 2 years through a combination of university study and on-site/hospital training. This is all supported by our State Government and the eventual degree in Nursing is recoginsed globally. Have a look at: http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/nursing/scholar.html

I just want to say that I am 23 and went to tech school for nursing. I graduated when I was 19 and have been a nurse eversince! I have never had any problems or complaints about my care from my patients or bosses! I don't think that your age matters I think that it's what kind of person you are and the l;evel of compassion that you have.
