Q: Teacher once asked a believing child?

A school teacher said God is not real, a child said he is, so he pulled out an egg and said pray that when this egg drops it wont break to prove he is real, if it breaks hes not, the child said I will pray that when you drop that egg, you drop dead to prove he is, so the teacher put the egg back into the drawer not wanted to take the chance, so would you athiest or non God believers have dropped that egg and take the risk?

A: Better yet. Go ahead and pray that I die in my sleep tonight. I guarantee anything I'll be alive and kicking in the morning.

That is just another in a line of straw man arguments theists use to make themselves feel smug.

Here's an even funnier one:

Makes me feel like dropping some eggs.

Sounds to me like a made-up tale to scare religious parents that public schools teachers are trying to turn all students into atheists. Teachers do NOT act that way. It's a blatant lie.

Oh yeah, and the guy who got best answer - fine example of Christian love and compassion.

What a sad story. Why would a religious kid pray for the death of a teacher?

I see this as just another made-up story that the fundamentalists use to prop up their faith.

If you want to believe in this, that's fine with me. But don't try to convert me or my family, and don't ever ask that I pay for your beliefs. That means no tax breaks for any sort of church or for church employees like preachers, no state-mandated religion, no prayer in school, and no amnesty for pedophile priests, ministers, etc.

I let my children run around with raw eggs all the time...just on the incase their teachers make this assertion regarding God so they can illistrate by pulling an egg out and asking absurd questions...sheesh, man...C'mon...its people like you who make atheists seem somewhat credulous.

well, God doesnt kill people if we ask him too, not usually, unless we are extremely tight with him, so either that kid was like David, and considered after his own heart or he was just being pedantic. And A teacher should never say something like that, That is grounds to fire them.

if my student is praying I'll drop dead, I'm going to send them to the guidance counselor for they are a danger to themselves.
