My mom is atheist, but my best friend's mom took me to church and brainwashed me young. At about 18 I started living with some crazy catholic republicans and then renounced my faith and came to my senses... now I am thankfully agnostic and clear minded, void of any silly fairy tales.

I was raised Lutheran and conned into being baptized by an over-zealous Baptist preacher while attend Vacation Bible School with a friend. I rejected Christianity and became a practicing Buddhist (Nichiren Shoshu) while in college. I eventually drifted away from Buddhism and became a Deist, then abandoned the idea of a "god" (at least one worth worshiping) and religion all together. I can be plenty "spiritual" without human-manufactured gods and contrived dogma that strains credibility.

I was a true and dedicated Catholic. I went to Church ever Sunday, went to Sunday School, went to bible study, prayed at every mean and every night, went to the nunnery, went to confession…etc. I was completely brainwashed. I believed everything. They gave us workbooks to do, and I always completed all of my homework.

The turning point in my life came when my evangelistic Aunt tried to recruit me into Protestantism. She asked me why we prayed to Mary. I went back to Sister Anne and asked her why. Although Sister Anne gave a good answer, the question left a thorn inside.

I was only about 10 -11 years old. I read the Bible from cover to cover. The more I read, the more flaws I found. I independently came up with the Omnibenevolent, Omnescent, and Omnipotent (of course I didn’t know those words at the time).

Since then, I have dedicated a large chunk of my life studying the bible. I have read the Old Testament 3 times and the New about 5 times. I pick out the flaw, inadequacies, and contradictions. I try not to ready any anti-religious books, but develop reasonings for myself.

I also went to University, studying Math, Chemistry and Physics. I am a believer in Science. Although we do not have an answer for everything, we have some proof for everything we say. String Theory has really helped me understand the universe and I believe that we are closer than ever to breaking though the mysteries of the Universe.

The way I see it, Jesus came to earth to help people believe in God. He showed them miracles. God has yet to show me any. It should be his job to show me one. Until then, he does not really want me to be his follower.

I have been extremely lucky in life. I have gotten everything I’ve wanted. I have not believed in an idol. If there really is a God, he is being very unjust. Here I am telling people NOT to believe in him; yet, I have never had any major blockades in life.

Depending on myself, instead of blaming an imaginary thing is the best thing I can do.

I believe we are the God of God. Without us, God would cease to exist. If we no longer believed in him, he would die.

I used to like to believe that there was an afterlife and stuff, but I was never part of a religion proper. My mother is an atheist and my dad doesn't seem to care that much about the God question when I ask him about it.
