I am Mormon, so I can help you out. A lot of people confuse our religion for others. A lot of people think we live like the Amish and have 10 wives. That isn't true at all. In 1890, a Declaration was published saying that plural marriages were to be stopped. Any member of the church today who practices plural marriages is excommunicated from the church. I see this question a lot.

Mormons technically gave up polygamy years ago in order to obtain statehood.

It is still widely practiced, although not openly. No one in excommunicated.

My childhood sweetheart (boyfriend in high school) was the son of the first wife, his father had two wives. Dad was never excommunicated, although the wives attended not only different wards, but different stakes. It was public knowledge within our ward that there were two wives and most people envied his bravery at practicing the principle despite the risks.

According to the law, only one....

According to Mormonism, only one....

I personally feel that one is (beyond?) enough.

Just one.

Current Mormon theology teaches monogamy for both men and women (the polygamy stuff has allegedly become outdated around the late 1800s according to their then "prophet"). There are still some small sects out there who still defy that and practice it though.

Say, are you single...?

Only one as Mormonism had revoked the polygamy clauses in its beliefs that were there when it was first founded.

It is my understanding that you could have one. The men may have multiple wives. Not all Mormons believe this or practice it though.

In truth none, only men can have as many mates as they please, the woman is only but a housekeeper. And you must where white or black. Enjoy your pathetic choice. Please make the right choice. Think of how Iraq treats there women something similar, they just don't lie about it. Be careful what you wish for. Be safe you will need it.

It's variable. If your husband had 7 wives then you would have 0.143 husbands. The most you, as a woman, could have is 1.

None

The Mormon church is male dominated and only the gents get to practice the "holy principle of polygamy"...Oh I guess I should say the mainstream church doesn't practice it anymore, but that's not what you asked is it??

Personally that's sort of sad..I'd love a few extra fellas around the house...
Think of the things I could get fixed!
