It irritates me and I'm not even Muslim. It irritates me when people believe stereotypes and don't get to know someone before making rash judgments.

I was at the airport last weekend renting a car and as I was standing in line I was watching people. I noticed 2 middle eastern gentlemen and they were being watched by practically everyone.

Judgmental people suck.

Obviosuly from the varying responses this is a very 'touchy subject'. First of all, Judaism, christianity, and Islam, are not 'cults' and are related, built upon the other, and are all Abrahamic religions (Ibrahim). To answer the moon cult, yes the crescent moon probably gives the appearance of moon worshipping, but honestly, catholocism often is represnted by a dove, but do they worship birds? As Muslims should know, holy days (Eid) are determined by the lunar cycles, so there is a connection, but the Muslims do not worship the moon, or the sun anymore than they would a McRib sandwich.
Much as the other two religions have schisms, orthodox jews vs moderate, Catholics, protestants and shiite and Sunni (Bahi, Sufi, Kurds) other sects or philosophies, the differences are not faith but an artificial (man made vs G*D made)organization, but still the differences are slight. As to whether we are on the verge of a new crusade, I think that is dependent upon whether level heads prevail, sound dialogue and yes, faith. May the over zealous Cardinal, Rabbi, or Mullah be damned.

I can tolerate non-Muslims... cz they are non-Muslims... they don't know much about Islam...

BUT... the ppl who call themselves Muslim n lie about other sects (e.g. about Shiasm)... those are the ones I can't stand... I rather get as far as possible from them... cz these ppl... who make fitna about their own brothers n sisters... they will get punished much harder than the non-Muslim who only heard a few things about Islam...
For instance... where on earth did non-shiats heard shiats worship other than God... or have another Quran? THIS, MY FRIEND, IS IGNORANCE... not the words of a non-Muslim who has read in the history that pre-Islamic Arabs worshiped the moon God...

I'm not a muslim and I am very upset that people of other religions think they know everything, and that they think all Muslims are evil/bad. I know that the terrorists of 9/11 happened to be Muslim, which makes a lot of people believe that the Muslim religion is violent and that they strongly believe in suicide bombings and other acts involved with terrorism. But if you think about it there have been a lot of horrible crimes commited by people of other religions, and yet the Muslims are still frowned upon. I hate how people can judge a whole religion by just a few people. And what, pray tell, is this moon god business?

Yes, it does. The ignorance is overwhelming. I've made this point so many times in other questions its not even funny. You know, mostly about the bias media brainwashing the west into making them think a certain way about Islam and Muslims, making all who listen and watch and read ignorant and bias themselves.

yes, but " Reflections of Paul Kurtz during his 80th birthday " said something else.

The traditional religions have too often waged wars of intolerance not only against other religions or ideologies that dispute the legitimacy of their divine revelations but even against sects that are mere variants of the same religion (e.g., Catholic versus Protestant, Shiite versus Sunni). Religions claim to speak in the name of God, yet bloodshed, tyranny, and untold horrors have often been justified on behalf of holy creeds. True believers have all too often opposed human progress: the abolition of slavery, the liberation of women, the extension of equal rights to transgendered people and gays, the expansion of democracy and human rights.
if you have finished reading the first part and your bolt's are still loose read this one too..

The ancient faith that God is a person has not been corroborated by the historical record. Such conceptions of God are anthropomorphic and anthropocentric, reading into the universe human predilections and feelings. "If lions had gods they would be lion-like in character," said Xenophon. Thus, human Gods are an extrapolation of human hopes and aspirations, fanciful tales of imaginative fiction.

I'm sure the truth is ruthless and painfull but still you can try reading more ... here ..
The Qur'an does not tolerate dissent, freedom of conscience, or the right to unbelief. It denies the rights of women. It exhorts jihad, holy war against infidels. It demands utter submission to the Word of God as revealed by Muhammad. It rejects the separation of mosque and state, thus installing the law of sharia and the theocracy of imams and mullahs.

I really wish you if you can read this and use your kidney to understand the rude content and get your bolt's tighte for your own children's sake.. keep reading...
The first objection of the skeptic to this claim is that the forms of salvation being offered are highly sectarian. The Hebrew Bible promises salvation for the chosen people; the New Testament, the Rapture to those who have faith in Jesus Christ; the Qur'an, heaven to those who accept the will of Allah as transmitted by Muhammad.
In general, these promises are not universal but apply only to those who comply to a specific creed, as interpreted by priests, ministers, rabbis, or mullahs. Bloody wars have been waged to establish the legitimacy of the papacy (between Protestantism, Roman Catholicism, and Eastern Orthodoxy), the priority of Muhammad and the Qur'an, or the authenticity of the Old Testament.

Yes I do feel "something" anytime I read "moon God"; Now I know......and I laugh. Tx for the question.

Look at yoda green's answer ; I really want to laugh.
Subhanallah I say, is that why they call our God SWT like that ......how clever and genius they are.........whuhahahahaha.
I think our prophet s.a.w. would at least grin........ he's loaded with peace .
Never mind, at least I know now.
I used to really wonder about the "moon god" business actually. Tx that you ask. You are brave.
So......dont feel bad about it ......you should be happy to know that we are not ................( no comment , hahaha)

BUT (... I always have this word BUT,...am I ?) ..sorry but,

When I read what "guy from Lebanon" said here, ...I wonder what actually you did say........ ???
If you really did something that hurting our other muslim's fellows, please ask forgiven from ALLAH SWT ......please .
And please say salam to the guy from Lebanon.

I tell you what happened to me:
About 10 years ago, I didnt know who started,.. in our country shiite sure was called as something ........which made me afraid......but as our teaching said fitna is soo bad...I tried to remain in doubt.
I know, God ALWAYS Lead me .........

One day I bought a book, I like it very much ......Only after I finished ....I heard that :.. the author is SHIITE........
Thanks God ......so I don't have question about the shiites anymore since then......they are muslim, they are Islam, their Holy Book is Qur'an and they believe in Qur'an and they worship Allah SWT .......

Here, I also see a Christian who was feeling hurt ...any time muslims said that Jesus is not son of God. ( I think other than Christians, have that same opinion) .

That guy said it's an insult to him .
So.......what should we do .........???? What should we say.....
We dont mean to hurt, we dont mean to redicule we just say what we believe .....aren't we.
But ......apparently somebody is hurt...........

Yes I agree most of the USA only hears the worst of ISLAM and to be honest with you before 9/11 I knew nothing of the faith of Islam.

Many Muslims here seem to be very Kind, faithful and love GOD just as much as Christians and Jews do...

No it doesn't, but i will tell you what disturbs me is how uneducated you are about shia, your brothers and sisters in Islam. I was suprised you asked this question (very ironic).

You tell other religions, such as Christians what their religion is all about! why not Yoda telling you about yours!
does that means you can and others can't! think about it.

Aren't the Muslims are the one who tells the Christians, for example, that Jesus is not the son of God! then it means you tell them about their religion. Think about it.

What is more disturbing is how some Muslims are so uneducated about their own religion, Islam. They are the reflection of what your religion is all about. Not just who you worship, but the whole package. Think about it, please.

No judgment, just something to think about.

Live and let live.

Add:
For everyone who gives me a thumb up or down, Thank you. It just shows how much you wanted to know or thought about my points. God Bless you ALL.

Thanks for the two point. You as I good Muslims, I can very likely predict who you will pick.

Just to be honest and fair.
Why do the Muslims make up things of other religions, and they belive they are right and everyone else is wrong! How come the Muslims are so certain of what they believe of others, and at the same get offended when someon ask or question your belief system! Ever wonder or noticed that.

I do NOT hate you, and hopefully you don't think I am being rude with you. I am just honest and to the point. not everyone who thinks different than you are insulting you or your faith. They just think differently than you. That is all.

The bottom line. Bless you and yours.
