According to the famous economist I. M. Lyon (say his name out loud), economic factors are a legitimate determinant of belief. So if one belief can make more money than another, then that belief must be more true. By applying this to the evolutionism/creationism debate, we can see a clear winner.

Most people know that the Bible is the best selling book of all time. It has sold many more copies than "Origin of Species." This proves that more people believe in the Bible than in the "Origin of Species" and therefore that the Bible is more true.

If the Bible is more true than Origin of Species, then creationism must be more true than evolution. Anybody who says otherwise just denies the truth of I. M. Lyon.

I predict that 50% of respondents will be mad at me for believing in an invisible sky pixie. 20% will agree with me. 30% will get the joke. Let's see how close I am. Also, despite the fact that I just said this post was a joke, most of the replies will take me seriously.

I understand the logic, humorous, but the facts are flawed i am afraid. The bible is the best selling book of all time, because christian groups throughout history such as the christadelphians buy them to give away to people to "spread the word of the lord" to the heathen masses gathered at the gates of damnation.

But nonetheless the educated heathen masses are more than content to gather at the supposed gates and do not believe the retarded ramblings of 2000 year old men, ratified by a Pagan emperor, baptised on his deathbed, designed to govern and tax the people through the church as well as the state.

I think we should all just go back to primal times and start worshipping the sun again which truly is the giver of all life on earth.

You overlook the fact that most people who believe in the Bible also accept the scientific evidence for biological evolution. Those who think there is a conflict between the two are a small minority. Also, why do you think the writings of Lyon are as inerrant as the Bible? What he wrote is just a hypothesis.

Far be it from me to contradict I.M.Lyon, but when I first read about all that money the Bible was pulling in, I jumped all over it; only to learn that after all these years I'm still broke.
When I tried to "pluck" out the eye of one of my enemies, I was arrested, and booked on assault charges.---When I "turned the other cheek", somebody slapped the hell out of me.
So, sorry, I think I might turn a better profit with that Evolutionosticism stuff.-----No offense though.

Well, the bible must be true, because that's what Americans believe and America's the best because my daddy said so. Isaac Newton believed in Alchemy, therefore it's true, most people just aren't smart enough to realize it.

Sorry, Windom Earle, but you're far too subtle for me. Everytime I try to answer one of your questions I make a fool of myself because I thought I understood the question, but didn't. Getting people to really communicate is hard enough without deceitful clowns such as yourself pissing people off for sport, or for spite, or for whatever other excuse you prefer.

joke or not... you know that lately christians are beginning to preach their version of evolution... that's what they always have done... love, peace, equality, when they lose a battle they claim it as their own and twist the movement into something sick and useless... Music outsells the bible mother nature does neither religion or science... she does music... and not that christian crap either...

And "Titanic" was the biggest money-making movie of all time.

Does that mean that Jack and Rose were real people?

If a particular belief system is more likely to make money than another, than those who value money will tend to gravitate toward it. But that doesn't do a THING for the truthfulness of that belief.

BTW: being funny is a bit like being cool -- if you have to TELL other people you are, you aren't.
